Can early daycare account for societal increase in ADHD/mental illness?
Study using universal daycare in Quebec showed that universal daycare increases behavioral problems in later years even if there isn't a cognitive decline. Author hypothesizes that is because babies need to learn self-regulation in the younger years. And that's not possible with the daycare ratios provided (5:1). Relatedly daycare increases coritsol levels.
